HOW DOES IT WORK?

Carissa separates micro-plastics from sand while vacuuming.

It empties separated sand to the beach with reverse vacuum while micro-plastics are stored in the container.

HOW DOES IT SEPARATE MICRO-PLASTICS?

Plastic particles in the size of <5 mm are considered micro-plastics.

On the other hand, sand particles range in diameter from 0,0625 mm to 2 mm.

Carissa uses this size difference by sifting the sand and micro-plastic mixture that vacuumed.

WHAT HAPPENS AT STATION?

After the vacuuming is done and micro-plastics separated from sand, robot returns to its station.

At station, it charges via solar power and transfers micro-plastics to the station's container.

When stations's container is its maximum capacity, user gets

a notification via app.
